Meet Your Hosts
CASSIDY DICKENS
Hello and welcome! I’m Cassidy—singer-songwriter, host of the Getting Creative podcast, Founder of Lyric Creative, and Artist Mentor.
Growing up in southern West Virginia, I was surrounded by a rich tapestry of storytelling and the kind of natural beauty that fills every day with wild inspiration. I was also surrounded by people who, for a variety of complex cultural and economic reasons, were trapped in grueling careers they absolutely hated.
I’ve always had a deep gratitude for my ancestors who made a living mining coal, distilling moonshine, digging graves, and working hard to make ends meet.
But even as a child I knew deep in my bones that I was called to something else. I didn’t know how, but I knew I HAD to find a career that lit my soul up and fulfilled my sense of purpose.
At the tender age of 12, I accepted my first paying gig as a singer-songwriter. I played two hours of original music at a local restaurant… and I was hooked.
In the years since, I’ve fanned that flickering flame of inspiration into a full-on creative conflagration. I took my music dreams out of the West Virginia mountains to Nashville, where I spent 7+ years writing and singing under the neon lights.
I’ve toured the US, released three full-length albums, written for film & national TV, and collaborated with dozens of producers and recording artists.
In 2017, my love for storytelling led me to found Lyric Creative Co.—an online marketing company dedicated to helping creatives, coaches, authors, speakers, and other visionary business owners get their brilliance out into the world.
To date, I’ve helped my clients earn multiple millions of dollars doing work they love, all through the power of strategic storytelling and genuine human connection.
Today, I’m thrilled to still be actively growing my music career AND supporting other creatives as a mentor and consultant.
I’m on a mission to help creative souls like you build careers and lives that center passion, freedom, and purpose—on YOUR own terms, by YOUR own rules, in a way that reflects YOUR definition of “success.”

TAMMY DICKENS
Hi there, I’m Tammy—I’m a jewelry artist, small business owner, wife, and mother of three adult children.
As a southern West Virginia native, I was a wanderer and wonderer from day one. Creativity came effortlessly to me as I made crafts from moss, rocks, sticks, and whatever natural “art supplies” I could find among the mountains.
When I became a mom, I put my creative dreams on hold to grow my family. Between tea parties, dance classes, and craft projects, “Mom” quickly became my most creative job ever. My children were my artistic outlet and passion.
As my kids grew and began to need me less, I started noticing a pull to do something get back in touch with my artistic passions. I was in my 40s, in a bit of a rut, and realizing I wanted more life in my life!
Around that time, our family moved across the US to California. This created the perfect opportunity for me to start fresh and prioritize my art.
As my jewelry-making skills grew, so did my passion and drive to do more with this skill. This is how my business, Pebble Nest, was born.
My dream for Pebble Nest, even from the beginning, was that it would not only provide an outlet for my own creativity… but a channel to create community and make art that held a deeper meaning.
Over the past 10+ years, Pebble Nest has blossomed into a full-time business. make and sell my original jewelry in galleries, festivals, and shops all over the US. I also offer workshops and classes for other creatives.
There is a common sentiment that mid-life is a time to rest and begin settling into old age. But the opposite has been true for me.
As an artist in my early 50s, I feel I’m at my personal peak—and still climbing! I’m constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to explore my creativity, make more art, and connect with others who want to do the same.
I like to say I’m “still a work in progress”—this, I think, is why finding a creative community is so important. We are ALL a work in progress. My eldest daughter Cassidy and I have created this retreat to provide other creative souls with a place to walk together, learn together, and encourage each other as we grow together.
One of my great gifts in life is being able to see the potential and inherent greatness in others. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be seen for who you really are and encouraged to go after what you really want—you’ve found it. I can’t wait to meet you at the retreat!

Q: Who is this retreat open to? Can I come if I’m not a professional artist?
This retreat is open to anyone who identifies as a “creative,” who wants to kindle that creative flame, reconnect with your sense of self and vision, and feel more fully expressed in your work and your life.
You may be a musician, a writer, a painter, a photographer, a coach, an author, a speaker, a therapist, a yoga instructor, a chef, an illustrator, a midwife, a copywriter, a designer… and the list goes on! We’re not concerned with titles or labels. If the experience speaks to you, join us!
Q: How "outdoorsy” are we talking here?
This experience is focused on renewing creativity, igniting inspiration, and calling you forward into your full artistic potential. We use connection to nature to facilitate your connection to self and vision.
Your cabin is in a remote location, about a 15-20 minute drive from the town of Elkins, WV, en route to some of the state’s most popular parks. Our activities will include light-moderate activity; think gentle nature walks, not hardcore hikes.
That being said, if you’re looking for strenuous activity, there’s plenty to be found! Add a day to your trip to take advantage of local rock climbing, caving, wilderness backpacking, and more. Feel free to write to us if you have questions about this.
